Political parties
Although in Thermidor the names are usually cited in English, I’m in a helpful mood and so, this time I’m also giving the Maltese names.
- Alternattiva Demokratika/Democratic Alternative/Green Party
- Azzjoni Nazzjonali/National Action
- Partit Laburista/Labour Party
- Partit Nazzjonalista/Nationalist Party
Media
The Maltese media landscape is unique. The dead tree media:
- The Times/The Sunday Times (daily/Sunday, in English)
- The Malta Independent/The Malta Independent on Sunday (daily/Sunday, in English)
- Malta Today (Wednesday/Sunday, in English)
- L-Orizzont/It-Torca (daily/Sunday, in Maltese)
- KullHadd (Sunday, in Maltese)
- In-Nazzjon/Il-Mument (daily/Sunday, in Maltese)
- Illum (Sunday, in Maltese)
L-Orizzont and It-Torca are owned by the GWU, KullHadd is owned by Labour and In-Nazzjon and Il-Mument are owned by the Nationalist Party. Malta Today and Illum are published by the same publishing house.
The electromagnetic media:
- Radju Malta/TVM (Public Broadcasting Services)
- Smash TV
- One Radio/One TV
- Radio 101/Net TV
- Radio RTK
- Capital Radio
The list is not exhaustive. It does not list community radio stations and stations whose nature is not of much interest here (e.g. exclusively musical, commercial or religious). Here is the full list.
Online news outlets:
Malta Right Now is owned by the Nationalist Party and maltastar.com is owned by Labour.
Blogs
The Maltese blogosphere dealing with politics and current affairs is very limited. Here’s my blogroll.
